It has been very sad to say good-bye to our long time friend and horse Flash, but we have a new arrival to serve the campers this summer. In April we received a phone call from a dear friend of Eagles’ Wings who heard the news of Flash’s death. He wanted to help meet the need and intended to donate a new miniature horse for the program. After talking with a friend of his that trains miniatures, they decided to donate a very cute little fellow named Bandit.
Bandit came to live with us in mid May all the way from Oklahoma. He had a very big surprise when he came off the trailer. In Oklahoma he was use to grass and rain and trees. When he stepped out of the trailer there was only wind. However he made friends with Secret (our female miniature) very quickly and seemed to adjust to the arid climate of NM well.
It wasn’t long until the first week of camp and he was happy to see all the campers adoring him. Bandit has done a wonderful job of giving the campers a ride around the ranch. And though he is still young, he is learning quickly. We are so thankful that the LORD brought us a Bandit to give campers joy this summer.
